What actually motivates you to keep pushing when things get hard?

I made a mistake I can't undo, and I won't rest until I've made it right, whatever it costs me

I want the kind of power that lets me actually fix what's broken, not just survive it

I want to be the reason the people I love get to keep fighting another day

I want to protect the small, ordinary happiness everyone else is too busy to notice

I won't stop believing someone can still choose to be good, even after something terrible

I won't let someone who trusts me carry a burden they don't even know is because of me

I won't let the people counting on me go without, even if I have to give up everything I have

I won't let what happened to the people I lost become something the world is allowed to forget

Nobody gets to tell me what's mine, especially not the people who tried to shape me

Never asking for a comfort I haven't earned, and never accepting less from anyone else either

Being big enough, loud enough, and warm enough that nobody near me has to be scared

Making absolutely sure nobody ever sees the parts of me I'm ashamed of

I turn it into fuel, I'd rather work myself into the ground fixing it than sit with the guilt

I try to understand why it happened before I decide how angry I'm allowed to be about it

I don't dwell on it, regret is a tax on time I'd rather spend making sure it never happens again

Carefully, and with an endgame, every favor and every decision is a piece on a bigger board

As little as possible, and only ever to stop someone from doing something they can't take back

Without apology, if you can't perform under pressure I have no reason to pretend otherwise

However I want, watching people scramble under me is about the closest thing I have to satisfaction

I'll fix whatever's broken about you as many times as it takes, no questions, however mad I am at you

I'll take on responsibility for people who never even asked me to, because someone has to

I'll tell anyone who'll listen how much you matter to me, loudly and often, without embarrassment

I'll show up in person, every time, because loyalty said from a distance doesn't count for much to me

That I'll never be whole on my own, that I still need back the thing I lost

That the person I've dedicated myself to becomes something I can't forgive myself for helping create

That someone I love gets hurt in the one moment my strength wasn't actually enough

That if I stopped performing, there'd be nothing underneath worth anyone's time

Whether they treat someone with nothing to offer them exactly the same as someone powerful

Whether they can see three moves past the obvious one and still act decisively

Whether they light up talking about the people they love, unironically, unembarrassed

Whether they can be handed something impossible and simply deliver it, no excuses

That I kept building things back up, even the people who kept breaking themselves

That I decided, for myself, exactly who and what I belonged to

That everyone who depended on me actually made it through, because of choices I made

That I finally became someone worth the second chance I was given
